POLITICIANS AND THEIR ANGEL WINGS

President Obama today enumerated the official culprits of the housing-bubble crisis:

1. All of us, because we let our common values erode
2. Big banks, because they traded in risky mortgages
3. Lenders, because they knowingly took advantage of homebuyers
4. Homebuyers, because they knowingly borrowed too much from lenders
5. Speculators, because they gambled on rising prices
6. Politicians, because they ... didn't do anything

Of course, he didn't say "politicians," but "our leaders in Washington."
